Written in 2011 and intermittently drawn between 2012-2015. The Rutherford Case is a self-contained comic that I decided to work on to get better at making comics and so I'd at least have a completed comic story to my name. It's an incredibly silly comic inspired by a Math test question that turned into a short story of bumbling Asian detectives and murder. The battle plan for this work was no research/backgrounds, fun only, Final Destination. Even though it's kind of rough and goofy, I'm still very proud of myself for finishing it and am looking forward to improving more in the future. Something I still enjoy about this comic was that because of the frivolous nature of the comic, I felt a lot more freedom to push the characters to act more wacky and have more absurd poses. You might recognize the character designs as slightly altered and proto-designs from my other WIP comic, Wolf Country.
